I developed Yijit.com to satisfy students of Mandarin (specifically myself) who lack a simple and convenient way to transcribe Chinese text to pinyin.

The character to pinyin mappings were taken from a slighty modified version of uni8py.txt which is part of Erik Peterson's DimSum (version 0.7.9) Chinese Tools application.

I am pleased if this is useful to you. But be sure to thank Erik for the key component.

Since writing this, I have discovered there are other tools which also serve this purpose.
However, what's done is done. Additionally, I think you'll find this one to be fast and attractive to look at.
